Poem and Story of the Month September 2015

A few members have been keen to find out which pieces have taken the September accolades so without any messing about this news just in:

The picks of the month for September were “challenging” to say the least…  But there have to be winners.

For Poetry, Bee, Pat G, Vadislav32 and Celticman treated us to some wonderful imagery.  All brilliant yet each one different in content and form.  But the POTM goes to a newcomer to Abctales.  Mackatoof’s “Autumn Wasp” was awesome.  The language is dramatic, tense, deep and incredibly visual.  It gives a sense of being trapped in something that may once have been full of promise:

For Prose, once again it was a difficult choice. Parson Thru, Matthew Hughes, Lisa H and David Martin each took us on a tremendous adventure in their stories. From  going through four weeks of intense training and wonder, to the discovery of something weird and unearthly in the woods. But my choice for SOTM goes to one of Abctales most loyal supporters, Noo. “Game” is a fascinating and witty read that’s constructed around certain Tarot Cards. A game that may have once been exciting and dangerous suddenly becomes boring and tedious:

September was a triumph in Poetry and Prose on Abctales.  Well done to everyone,

Jolono.

It was a tough call, there's no doubt about it but those two choices really are stand-out pieces.  Our gratitude must go to jolono for all this diligent reading, weighing, measuring and agonising.

Thank you.
