Story and Poem of the Month, November 2015

I’m delighted to be able to pass on the news concerning the Poem and Story of the Month award for November 2015:

Poem of the Month goes to Johnshade for ‘Autumn.’  A love affair told with startling and visceral beauty, a truly poetic insight into desire, the words arranged with such care and precision that it breathes a life on the page.

Story of the Month goes to Culturehero for ‘into the grey afternoon.’  It’s a tale of the unexpected with the fallibility of human nature at its core. Gorgeous rhythmical story-telling and an original narrative voice delivers a catastrophic conclusion with alleged ease. It stuns you so significantly that you go straight back to the beginning to read it again.

Congratulations to both, and to all the other writers who produced lovely work on ABCtales in November.

Thanks to one of our most esteemed editors and contributors, Ray for all the hard work.  We are all very grateful,

Peter.

Now you're talking! I've been gorging with happily confused deliberation over Mr Shade's unique poem of shared, tangled pathologies and trying to decipher its significance to my own situation, knowing the potency of its awesome relevance without quite understanding its importance. It's the most amazing feat of concentrated love that I've read for donkeys and deserves a far wider audience. So divided by fatty delusion stroked by trite subjectivity is the business of poetry, motivated by a wealth of ignobility, that I doubt this volcanic gem will see light outside of this beautiful backwater. Poem of the year here, there and everywhere between.
