Fragments of my heart

A lot of these poems are very personal and were written in times of high emotion for me alone. Publishing them is a bit like stripping off in public, but having said that, we're all pretty much the same inside our clothes and inside ourselves.
Anyway, as a leo, I can't resist showing off ;o)

Reflections

Another personal reflection. A bit more positive than the iron bound chest!

Tsunami Lament

The shores around Pacific's rim Are guarded by the might Of men and buoys and radios That watch by day and night. The Indian Ocean's balmy shores Could have been protected too

The Parting

I watch your train departing And unbidden, to my eye Come familiar tears of sadness, I just want to stand and cry, But I watch as it grows smaller And then turn with head bowed low.

One Night Together

One night Together Lost in each other Exchanging secrets And fluids And chocolate Skin on skin In timeless love One soul Two bodies Entwined Together But when We bathe Separately

Snow

The miracle of snow.

Yorkshire

You can always tell a Yorkshireman, but you can't tell him much!

Peak Oil

Peak Oil is the situation where the world's oil reserves have peaked and are in decline. There are those that think we are already there... Written at GEN+10, Findhorn Foundation. copyright waived.

Goodbye

I wrote this a couple of years ago at the end of a relationship.

Father Sun, Daughter Moon

This short story was written as an exercise using the elements of earth, air, fire and water, but it turned out to be a little gem.

I Have an Iron Bound Chest

A very personal reflection

Poem

We've probably all been here...

The Vase

A little parable...

My Winter Love

The winter wind howls loud outside My draughty room is chill But deep inside I’m warm as toast For you are with me still. The cold bare branch of winter taps Upon my window pane,

Hornsea

Thoughts on the destructive power of the sea.

The Dance of Life

An internet relationship

The Black Cat

Tonight, as I drove home through Scalby, at about 9pm, my headlights picked out a black cat, lying across the centre line as if asleep. Two other cars passed by on an almost empty road.

Ambushed

An unexpected, unintended emotional ambush.

Tarot

The tarot card I most identify with these days is The Hermit. A cloaked figure, struggling along in isolation, peering ahead into the darkness, lit only by the dim lantern he holds.

The Bells of Hell (IP)

The Bells of Hell go ting-a-ling-a-ling, For you but not for me. And the little devils how they sing-a-ling-a-ling, For you but not for me. Oh death where is thy sting-a-ling-a-ling, Oh grave thy victory? The Bells of Hell go ting-a-ling-a-ling, For you but not for me.
