Not Me, No Sir-Ree

I've deleted this story as it's now been accepted for publication.

Many congratulations, that's brilliant!
Where can we read it in future?

barely black francis | October 9, 2006 - 12:34

So come on Digby, you've started a whole thread about it, where did you get it published?? Or is it a secret?

Chuckie | October 9, 2006 - 14:20

So, I shouldn't have started a thread about it? I did it as a courtesy.

Actually, the piece has been taken by an American mag called Static Movement. Here's a link:

Though, if you want to read my story, give it a couple of days. At the moment only the title appears. The link to the story should be up in a little while.

maddan | October 9, 2006 - 14:26

so you've taken it off one website to put it on another

oh well, congratulations on being picked.

Chuckie | October 9, 2006 - 14:32

It's considered standard practice if a piece is accepted for a publication to take it off a site which is open to the public. At least, that's my understanding. Some publications consider a piece already 'published' if it's on such sites.

Madden, if you’re serious about your writing and would like to try to get published, here’s a link to a list of literary magazines and journals that publish short fiction (and poetry):

Good luck.

maddan | October 9, 2006 - 15:27

Madden?

cath_carr | October 9, 2006 - 15:35

hahahaha

maddan | October 9, 2006 - 16:08

shut it you

barely black francis | October 10, 2006 - 08:42

ChuckieDigby, many people who use this site get published somewhere or other and yes, they mainly take that piece off the site. They generally do not start a thread on the matter. Then again, you managed to start a thread on *another* site abouit how you got a cherry on *this* site. I guess you just like starting threads.

barely black francis | October 10, 2006 - 09:40

btw, the contract for that mag states

The writer understands that being published here uses up their first electronic rights ...unless a reprint. In case of a reprint, the author will supply the publisher with the name and address of where it was published before, so that we can give credit...by the same token, Static Movement would appreciate, (but not require) a mention when the work is published elsewhere after it's been published here.

So I guess ABCtales will get a mention as it was previously published here?
