This story appeared here first under the title I'm Nine and My Brother Is Five. Elimae is a really good lit journal who has rejected me countless times - I'm happy to finally be there.

I made quite a mess of this post - this is what happens when I keep changing the names of my stories. The story first appeared on ABCtales as A Matter of Fairness. It is now published in Elimae as Familiar Things.
