Combatting Homesickness!

Dear Talers,
I've just moved into Bath and am feeling less than perky. Does anybody have a certain story/poem they read when they feel alone, or a certain song they listen to?
Thanks in advance,
Lem

I listen to Tracy Chapman....she tends to connect with the soul. Best of wishes in your new home. :)

I just moved into the Sink at least you've got leg room!

Tell less than perky to put more effort into reciprocating.

Just trying to make a lonely person smile here.

The malaise will pass I've been there Lem. Think of the positives, new place, new start, new friends.

Write down how you feel too as stuff written from the heart can be great therapy.

Best wishes.
Jack

Hi Lem,
Try and get yourself a copy of the Wurzels album,
they are a West country band from the 60s and 70s,
they sing about the West Country, they are so funny.
I've listened to the album hundreds of times, it still
cheers me up, each time I play it.

Hi Lem,
Yes it's me again, just another suggestion on poems,
you could try reading two of my poems, "A West Country
poem." And "Down here in Somerset." They might be
worth a laugh, you will have to excuse the typing
though, it's when I first started out.
Jenny.

I think you could try some of our Jen's remedies- I'm sure they will work.
Maybe you could try and write a piece here like a letter to your old town with your sentiments-just let it out and move on afterwards.
Best of luck and happiness in your new home
;)pia

Thank you so much everyone :) I really appreciate everything you suggested. I told less than perky to shove off and have made some really good friends. I am also considering joining the juggling society after their glow-in-the-dark demonstration last night! :D

Hi Lem,
I think that's a brilliant idea joining a juggling
society. I've always fancied joining a drumming group
myself, helps with rhythm, which I don't have.
My partner was born in Bath, we love their shops and
their pubs are great too.
Jenny.
