The local newspaper the Centurion Rekord dated 26 August 2011 reports; “Following months of alleged corruption and mismanagement at Wierdabrug police station, allegations are rife that all current employees will be transferred to other stations, with the exception of the station commander.” Wierdabrug police station is one of the two in our area. The article goes on to discuss the apparent problems further.
A lot is said and written about policemen on the make and on the take. It seems police corruption is rife. What should be done about crooked cops..? Are the police rotten to the core..?

I heard about this guy who was stopped because of drunken driving- he tried to bribe the policemen with a considerable amount and was charged and sentenced for drunken driving and bribery. I had to laugh my head off!!

I think the police are as fallable as any of us Jacques and prone to the same evils - but of course we expect an awful lot more.

Thanks FB- ha ha- here you loose your driving licence very easily but then there are a few who don't get caught..at least not the first time...I hate drunks.. hmm
