Greatest ever live performances

OK team - inspired by the 80's topic I just had to start this one.

For anyone who has not seen this Mary J Bilge video this is just a jaw dropping, joy giving 6 minutes. Please enjoy

Beautiful- Thanks

Lavadis, great tune I agree, But not my favourite Mary J track. "I'm Goin Down" does it for me.

Stan | January 16, 2012 - 16:59

Thanks for that, Lavadis. Great performance, as you say. Haven't heard Mary J in a long time, for some reason.

Here's a couple from different parts of the musical spectrum... but, for me, they're both fantastic in their individual ways.

Prologue/Crunchy Granola from Hot August Night. Neil Diamond at his young finest... and a crescendo that, even now, makes me shiver. Shame there's no vid to go with it.

...and Queens of the Stone Age at Reading in 2005 - No One Knows...

Stan, your pulling them out of the bag now! If you want a fantastic live performance have a look at this. Stevie Wonder doing Superstition. Funk/Soul at its finest.

Great choices Jolono and Stan. There is one that absolutely kills me every single time I see it. I mean, no matter what kind of music you like, this, as they say, is the bomb.

Agreed, and she's great to look at!

Stan | January 16, 2012 - 17:37

Yeah... they play that every day at the gym. It's one of the few stand-outs there, I can assure you!

Ok... sorry... a large bit of cheese here. These, for me, were the highlights from last year's Glastonbury. I know people are split over U2, for reasons we all know. But you have to hand it to the lads... they sure know how to do it. Incidentally, there are a lot of stories abounding about how Bono and Edge came to be named... but I know the truth. Edge was originally Hedge on account of his huge mop of hair... until he lost it, at which point he also lost the 'H'. Bono was always Boner, because of his predilection for tight trousers and the priapic impression they always created. When they got famous, though, their manager thought it was just too suggestive, and had it changed. True as I sit here...

Long may they do it, too...

Well... this is live enough for me. Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi telling us what we all need...

I thought I'd seen some pretty good live performances until one night I stumbled across this and realised I hadn't seen a thing.

RIP Etta.

She should've sung this at Obama's inauguration. Beyonce? Who the hell she?
