I take the fish fillets,
place them into bags and
hand them over to someone
who puts the bags into
boxes. These are passed
to Jeannie at the top who
puts them into the gluing
machine which seals the
boxes.
I earn ?4.20 an hour
and am paid on Thursday
and drink it all on
Friday and Saturday. It
is raining outside and I
am glad I was washing the
boxes last month when it was
sunnier.
Years pass and the faces
come and go but I and
the smell remain. I laugh
with the manager who is
younger than my son. The girls
are a good laugh and all
treat me with due respect,
I've been here so long.
