N=Lights

from the ABC set Unordered Tales

The stippled light from window

Dapples movement in my mind

Its, tiny shadows radiate

Dancing closer as they bind

Like a prema-ballerina

Lady radiance, pirouettes her feat

Tiny snips of light, sparkling as she

Flexes limb and slender fingers

To the music's bracing beat

The curtains billow in the breeze

And suddenly, her company is there

Like swans, their nimble movements

Seem to float on transient air

Tiny steps in time, then ever bended low

Their arms and pointed toes

Sweeping gracefully

To ensembles, ebb and flow

Melding to a figure

Of a life so incomplete

Silhouetted furrowed brow

Face drenched, in life's defeat

With torn and heavy clothes

He lumbers, counting hours of time

Wishes, melting onto pavements

Soul, beseeching the sublime

Again, the scene before me melds

As dancers, retake center stage

An audience behind them now

Cheers and roars its praise

Suddenly, the clouds outside

Steal light, the dance is stayed

Left, with only fading images

Of the wonders

Lights portrayed
