Sound of a Smile
They tell me a smile can be:
Dazzling,
Intense,
Radiant, or even
Toothy, in a pinch,
Attracting adjectives like a magnet;
But the smile I remember
Went "bbbrrringgg?bbbrrringgg,"
like an old-fashioned bicycle bell,
simply saying
"Hi, it's me!"
That's all I needed
to know?
back then?and?
If I close my eyes
I can still hear it?
even now?
and?
hope that when I open my eyes
she will be there?
again?
one last time?
