What The Chairs Are Thinking

What The Chairs Are Thinking

Dawn breaks the fast of
Last night's hungry chill,
Warming our welcomes that
Each guest may have his fill.

The tired, the lonely,
The lovers, the stressed,
The tourists, the birds,
The children, the rest.

We yawn and stretch
In silence thinking,
Days like this
Make life worth living.
