The novel is about Ginny, who is forced to accept that her long-term relationship with Giles is over and makes a momentous decision to pursue a lifetime ambition—to work on a luxury cruise ship. Dramatic endings bring new beginnings as she sets off on her adventure. Once on board, Ginny meets the characters that make up the crew. It doesn’t take her long to realise that luxury is only for passengers and that she will never receive a gold-embossed invitation to the Captain’s parties. Ginny attends one induction after another on sea survival and her new ‘dream’ job, but no induction can prepare her for life as a crew member aboard the Galaxy Princess.
