Writing poetry has always been my first joy. And I enjoy trying to put a fresh pair of eyes on any event or circumstance, that captures my attention. Many of my poems have been published in print and online. My only chapbook is at mercutiopress.com. One day I would like to have a full book of poetry published. In the meantime, my wife Esther, continues to encourage me in my writing. RLP

Come dance. Let these ideas and words carry you, from one person to another. From nature's menu, through city streets, and fly off with eagle wings. All my writing combines a love of nature and contemporary issues. Please enjoy these poems. RLP

Richard. I must say that I love your poetry. In my opinion the best ones are: Bald Eagle Watching, Crow, The Cliffs of Joggins, The Old Family Farm, A Feast of Summer, Costa Chica Mexico, Ethiopia of my Soul, First Light, Soldier Boys in Africa and This Earth. You have a wonderful talent of catching the spirit of human nature and nature itself in the words of your poems. It’s a joy reading them. I’m looking forward to some new ones.

Hello again, Nathan. Writing poetry is something I have come back to in my love of writing. Until recently, I spent most of my time writing short stories; my wife, Esther and I, co-authored novels, and as I said back to writing poems. My style changes continuously, always seeking the right shadow, or flick of movement in the wind, or taste of maple sugar in the scent. Thanks again for your encouragement, for this 65 year young writer, whose energy for writing is ten times what it was twenty years ago. So dear writers-to-be, age is no excuse to sit and munch chips while dreaming of writing something one day. Cheers, from Esther and I.
