"Johnson", my name was called and I raised my hand. The professor looked toward me and raise his pen to the podium, signaling me to go. I drew a close sigh and thought to myself: "Dear God, is it the time already?" Pushed back my chair and snatched my notebook, I slowly step up to the podium. The desk groaned as my book rests on the scathe, hard table and flipped open. Leading my finger aimlessly on the messy scribbled notes, I inhale then exhale to gain the support of what's left.
As I face front of the audience, there was eyes peeking and wandering off the room and I spoke: "Hello everyone, my name is Johnson." My only response was low mumbling, which I added: "There's one question before I begin." The audience grumble in disapproval. There was an everlasting pause that indicates eternal silence and while my finger was tapping on the desk, the sound echoing throughout the room, my mind drew completely blank. I shuffle away from the desk, select the chalk and wrote on the blackboard. Screeches and long corrosion reveals a message: "Who is it?"
"As we all know by now, this is who we are." I exclaimed calmly while the class breath slowly and as my posture consolidates: "Let us imagine, we do not know that your existence will never cease to animate in this world." My hands slam on the notebook. "Before you or anyone else remembers you an could cal you a friend, look at the mirror, to classify what you're seeing." I peer straight into the crowd, their jostling heads and gloomy eyes that's avoiding my line of sight. Rhythmic snores was heard behind the class and my speech continues in steady length: "As I look at everyone of you, who carnage themselves for the greed and jealously that envelops them, I just wonder on how different it would be if there were no people like them."
I then walked to the door, my shoes tapped the wooden plank as I came closer and sense of liberation springs up inside me. With the people behind me, waiting to scream out and demand my return. I continued, "How easy would that be." My head was raised and glanced back at the dark figures behind me then exclaimed: "Nonetheless, it's fascinating the discoveries that encourage us to be human but yet our qualities never cease to show and utter degrading method we have to suffer through." Ahead of me, the door opens and hordes of growls emits, the audience was displeased. My body went through the door and into the abyss, door slams shut, then a voice echoed: "Never would I be born."
The professor ripped off his notepad and shouted: "Alright, who's next?" Then a female voice answer in response, she glides herself into the podium and notice the opened notebook placed on the desk. She reaches to grab it and threw it out on the waste bucket. As it landed, the pages were flipped open and revealed nothing.
"Intellectual humans are such a shame." she moaned with insignificance. "But I do know one thing that's far more entertaining." she cheered with excitement. She smiled then contorted into a smirk: "Us." The class laughed in great energy and each individual hugged each other, despite the love, they relished in the darkness.
