Tie me down, I want to be
tied down, grounded with your
weight,I don't want to be
blown away, like thistledown
hither and thither, floating
into an abyss. Tie me down.
But do not- do not- bind me,
chain, suffocate or choke
the breath from me. Manytimes
have I, though alive, been nothing
greater than an automaton,
feeling no more than the rock
beneath your feet.
Always let my mind meander free.
