Looking Up

from the ABC set Concrete Decisions

In this brief moment
of tranquil uncertainty –

When stars emerge from
behind the shifting of
porcelain clouds,
As moonlight spreads
a cozy celestial blanket on
this concrete metropolis,
As razor-winged jets soar
dotting the sky,
A cluster of far away lights
drifting further from view –

A local eruption,
A shining beacon
is witnessed
exploding like a star
on a rooftop on Grand.

It is a sincerely happy,
delightedly natural,
unequivocal
reaction.

Simply put – a smile.

this is such a beautiful poem, the delicacy of each image is lovely and contrasts with the simple and straightforward ending, love it.

I agree! :) Especially the last stanza. Beautiful.
