"Girl from Nibiru"
I had no idea you were a giant lizard
who fell to earth in a fiery ship,
I just thought you were quirky.
And so I let my heart let rip.
With no warning of mental health hazard
I waved the flag of my love for you
until my fingers cracked.
I assumed that you were waving too.
But what you gripped till your knuckles whitened
were the handlebars of your trusty bike,
and I didn’t notice this.
So sorry for not being David Icke.
Folk treat me though with the same shortened
belief and regard that they show him
when I speak of you, my darling.
Of you and the ways of the Nephilim.
Of the light-years you’ve pedalled to enslave me
to your beckoning, barricading, serpentine,
pretty-faced tyranny.
So that my mind’s no longer mine.
Of the miles you’ve marched to manipulate me
and dress up the truth so it’s arctically clad,
so, like the man in the turquoise shell-suit,
I’m the one who looks mad.

Deserved cherry AM, from the "Myths of Mesopotamia": they came to dig out gold from our precious world, and she the one they called by name Inanna and Ishtar of Easter fame, to the Nephilim horde 'tis all a game.

The perfect match.

Thanks for dropping by, Blessing. Yeah, I'm not sure how far I believe all this Annunaki-Illuminati stuff, but some of it at least is plausible.
If David Icke is the new prophet, does this mean Terry Wogan is Pontius Pilate?
I hope not. Terry Wogan is a nice bloke. I met him once when I appeared on his game show.

Me and an alien lizard the perfect match? Yeah, you'd think so, but sadly no...

- love this stanza, Archie! This one made me chuckle. Well done on the cherries!

I know what you mean AM, the part in the myths about how they went about cloning and incubating cells is interesting and how they knew it was forbidden for them to do it too ... The film "Avatar" I think drew on the myth theme but flipped it so the humans were the aliens.

Thanks, Rebecca. That stanza made you chuckle? That's interesting, I think it's one of the less facetious, more melancholy stanzas.
Hope you're not too hungover xx

I've not seen 'Avatar'. And I've only read and watched basic stuff about Sumerian mythology. You seem to have read up on it quite a lot, Blessing. You say the Annunaki were forbidden to clone humans? So the Annunaki had their own religion/moral framework?
That's interesting. I thought they were supposed to be just a purely scientifically advanced race, not a spiritually advanced one...

Yeh - their own class structure and code of conduct. According to the translated text there was something like Star Trek's prime directive not to interfere with the locals - so there was a big hoohaa when they started messing. I find a lot of sci-fi material is taken from ancient texts from around the world. Makes me laugh when some of these films come out, really. Sort of know the script! The film is worth seeing by the way that's if you don't mind sci-fi

Fascinating stuff...
My idea of sci-fi is Red Dwarf...
Blessing | January 1, 2012 - 21:18
You don't alf crack me up AM!!! Yeh I watch Red Dwarf once in a while - total madness. Don't think them writers cared much for ancient texts though!!!

Sounds like you went out with an ex-girlfriend of mine. Lucky escape all round.
Archie_Macjoyce | January 1, 2012 - 22:40
Oh, I don't know. What about all the stuff about the Cat Race evolving on the cargo deck and developing their own religion where Lister is God, and having holy wars over what colour cardboard hat they should wear, and then leaving Red Dwarf on two arks in search of the promised land?...
Blessing | January 2, 2012 - 00:21
Point taken!!! So I wrote a story in the 80's for a competition (didn't win) also loosely based on the Annunaki thing. If I get the time I'll post it on here - wasn't part of my programme for the upcoming 3 mths - see how it goes.

Blimey... just reading these comments has been an education for me!
Loved the poem anyway, Archie.

scarletpimpernel - Just seen your comment. Yes indeed. It's possible you may have been out with her too. Have a read of this and see if anything is familiar:

Blessing - Post it! Don't worry about it being from the 80s. I love 80s stuff...
Stan - Thanks for dropping in. Yeah, it is all fascinating. Try looking up a bloke called Zechariah Sitchin...
Blessing | January 4, 2012 - 13:21
I've now posted the whole story by the way. Let me have your graphic comments.
