In all my innocence I forgot to mention that
life sometimes can be tough, that it takes more
than the seeds I planted with love and hope,
to truly guide you through life's journey.

In all the happiness that surrounded
our love I forgot to tell you that when
I'm gone, you must be as strong as you
were when I was with you, that our love
can still find its way in the dark and
like the certainty of the sun rising
each new day, always inside of you.

In all the rush of death that closed my
eyes, I had opened yours, but my role
of mother was so far from over, and
although I forgot to mention you
should wear a smile everyday,
somehow you remember.
