Remember

Remember what you told me.
Leaning out across the window ledge
the foggy outside caressing my senses.

Remember you presented me the razor edge,
although I was feeling perfectly fine.
I'd ignored your phone calls and texts for days,
but now you've caught up with me and handed
me that skeleton key to your heart.

Leaning out across the window ledge
the air stirred some sense back into my bones;
but awoke the familiar feeling of entrapment-
and I prayed that I could fly away from you.

Remember that you told me that there was no hope.
Remember that you told me that I could never cope.
Remember that I leapt from that window without feeling any pain.
Remember that you told me that I was insane...

The repetition works very well in this poem, Beeme...especially in the last stanza, where its usage really hammers the point home.

I hope the fall wasn't from high up. Liked this and agree with Tina on the repetition. ;)
