Keep on smiling- story for Haiti

One day it will be great again, a bird you have not seen before is singing a new song trying to raise your spirit. It's not perfect at the moment but it will be again . It's all baby steps towards a brighter future which will bloom in front of your eyes. Mother nature is there for you now- I wonder if the ground has anything to sing to you, as nature conducts a unique symphony. We sing humming all of our favourite verses from childhood songs although we don't know all of the words, this allows us to laugh at ourselves inwardly bringing out that smile, you remember the one.

The doorbell rang louder than ever before like it has got a new lease of life, I'd always thought it hadn't worked. Can you imagine? (I try not to but I always do) how many wonderful things happen. This is amazing in itself, nan walking to her door at a quicker pace than usual without using her walking stick, walking with a spring in her step, a tiny miracle which sparked a deep flame of hope within me.

It'll be a better day tomorrow and more sun will shine although they have forecast rain (weather men are notoriously inaccurate.) There's that smile again. Hope is an immortal heart inside of us and its beats are loud enough for the whole population to hear if we tune in with one another.

The priest promises my nan that she can speak with God and on her tv I see sleeping bags and camera's which speak volumes to me. The blind man there has probably seen more than I ever have or am likely to see, touched upon more subjects than I can write down.

The universe keeps expanding and time keeps unravelling each second of your life but these memories are being worshiped by either a lover or a sister or your best friends who remember these moments because it made them feel something so good that keeping the memories alive has become their religion, never allowing the meanings to vanish.

We never want to forget memories so we hold onto them and cradle them like a new born, our hands forming the foundation for hope. Re-building bridges that may have fallen down. Nan is too tired to talk anymore, that hasn't changed but her tone seems to be redefined as she asks me to read to her. I am more pleased than ever before when she drifts off to sleep still smiling.

Do submit it - it's worth it! There are a few spelling errors and grammatical mistakes though that need correction before it goes in.

The fourth paragraph is amazing and the whole thing really encouraging. However, I do agree with tony that this piece deserves some editing. It's good, but I know you can make it exceptional ;-)

A big well done from me.

Thankyou so much Magic, for the encouraging feedback. Writing a story was quite daunting for me! So I'm twice as glad you enjoyed. :-) I'm going to work on it a little more ;-)
