The South Coast Road

from the ABC set In the Absence of Change

Little Charlie Four-eyes took a walk around the globe.
It could have been so easy, though he started off in Hove.
Having headed North to Crawley in search of a motorway
He proceeded straight past Gatwick. Why, I cannot say.
So the ferries all left without him, only slightly hurt
And Charlie carried on up England, sweating into his shirt.
So if you try to match this feat let me tell you what I know;
The walk is rather quicker if you take the South Coast Road.

Thank you both, I think rambling is the right word for it.
I know it may be an obvious example, but Bob Dylan has an amazing way with place names sometimes that makes me look at them as words themselves (which is where this started (well, that and Google Maps!). For example:
"I’ll look for you in old Honolulu
San Francisco, Ashtabula
You're gonna have to leave me now, I know
But I’ll see you in the sky above
In the tall grass, in the ones I love
You're gonna make me lonesome when you go"
