There has been a survey,
Not a referendum,
To see if Britain should
Change to the Euro
And it appears that the no’s
Are in the majority
Apparently they are happy
To stick with the Giro

Biggus I liked this poem a great deal, it is rare for a mature political debate to be voiced via the aesthetic! I liked it further becaue it thriled and annoyed me, if that is not powerful substantial writing I do not know what can be! A tiny evocative string of nouns, verbs and possibilities, I would take great pride in this piece!
Trust me, those...IN...the giro slums don't vote at all; such is their institutionalised apathy! The 'through-line' governance of this country, meaning each ‘elected’ regime holds dearly the tenets of the last! It is a deliberate policy of all ‘bourgeois Super-structures’ to handle the canaille in such a fashion being namely:- Keep them fed, but keep them docile!
Imagine the great un-read actually taking an active part in the political theatre? Every well to do Labour cockroach and Tory Lord would shudder! Screw them, what could they do? They out number the middle classes and the filthy dog rich by X to 1! If a political party could just electrify the great un-thinking into some kind of voting fervour (aka X-factor final time) they would sweep the old political spectrum up in one beautifully fatal cull! Hence why successive governments ‘fail’ to rectify the shambolic, degrading and downright disgusting system of non-education for the lower classes in this country! A few do slip through, yet the system as it is, indoctrinates them with false pride and middle class leftist value structures - I offer myself as one such example, pathetic social coward!
I saw four strong looking men (19-30) difficult to tell with the proles, in town yesterday on bicycles, ‘cadging’ fags of each other! What a painful waste of human potential – then up the road there was a larger group of Eastern European men, mumbling in the chill, what happened? Firstly to combat socio-economic bourgeois hegemonic control mechanisms (primarily, the police and government; secondly nationalism, religion; thirdly ruralism and microcosmic municipality) we must abandon notions of them and us as regards 'people' a polish labourer and an english labourer are identical muskets, it is the means of ignition that defines them, that only!
The masses are a singularly powerful resource, germinated by Capitalism as a ‘labouring class’ pushing product revenue up and wages down; but a sour side affect - they bred in X numbers. So Capitalism then reviled and scorned them, for what reason other than they pose the potential to be the ultimate dismantling force! I liked the poem, yet I would never do yourself the dis-sevice of mocking the ‘giro slum people' but endeavour to empower them, not through tawdry liberal leftist dogma, which is essentially bourgeois but with condescending NHS sponsored pamphlets! How you do it is not really the issue, trying to do it is...
