I took my grandson
Up into the mountains
We walked for three hours
Until we reached a vantage point
And we sat and looked in awe
At Gods majestic landscape
My intention was to impart some wisdom
To my young grandson
About how he was at the startline
And I had the finish line in sight
But I didn’t in the end
It was only when we had hiked
For three hours down the mountain
That I remembered
Why we went up there in the first place

I like this idea.... That all those brilliant things we have stored up become moot in the face of something so beautifully simple, and yet so exquisitely complex
Much enjoyed :)

This touched the warmer side of my heart. It reminded me of all the activities that my granddad and I used to do when I was a little kid... :) ahhh... Those were the days

I liked this too. Interesting how it takes as long to come down as to go up. I have to be careful of my knees coming down, and going up I just keep stopping to enjoy the view!

I know what you mean about coming down Rhiannon,
There is a steep flight of steps in Woking called the Jack and Jills which murder my knees every time
