LINGERING AUTUMN

from the ABC set THE NATURAL WORLD - AUTUMN

In the forest,
The skeletal trees
Herald winters imminent approach
But for now
The autumn lingers
But the fruiting bramble bushes
Will soon feel winters icy fingers

On the leaf carpeted floor
Life continues
And the forest creatures
Go about their work
For today it is still autumn
And tomorrow is another day
