The pop diva Amy Winehouse
It was announced in the press today
May stay in Frankie Howerd’s old house
if Amy’s Mum manages to get her way
Her mum told her she has to go to rehab
But Amy said nay, nay and thrice nay

Why's it Amy Weinhouse? Is this a typo or part of the joke that I missed?
Biggus | July 17, 2008 - 11:34
Ok I've corrected it

Very amusing biggus....may be one too many syllables in 'After she’s been to rehab for a short stay....a very minor quibble.

Ahh, a cherry for such genius-a poem that doesn't even make sense (if she had thrice said nay, she would not have been to the rehab in line 4). Quite apart from it being a lame gag about (and a few years too late) about a woman who is having a public breakdown which we should not be proud to mock.
Other than that, it was fine. Well done you and well done Tony for a 'brave' cherry...

That’s ok Mike you’re too young and too American to know about Frankie Howerd who was a peculiarly British comedian who died in 1992.

I’m sorry Anne it’s such a “lame gag” for your refined palate
As to being old the story about Amy going to stay in Frankie’s old house was in last weeks press.
“we should not be proud to mock” was that a little bit of Howerdesque humour you snuck in there.
In answer to your question I believe when you have a celebrity who behaves so appallingly in the public eye then they are fair game.
If its funny its funny.
