The waiting room was full,
mostly young mums
and their offspring.
The noise level a bearable
buzz of chatter.
The semi silence
was shattered suddenly
by an ear splitting scream
of a little boy playing
with bricks in the corner.
All eyes turn in time
To witness a small
girl snatch hands full
of hair and pull.
Swiftly her mother
sized up the situation,
made a grab for her
wayward daughter,
shook her loose
from the boys mane.
The girl’s howl of shock
fused with the screech
of the distressed boy.
Decibels increased,
Sets up a chain reaction
around the room
as one by one
the rest of the children
join the unholy chorus
Mother's voices rise
in alarm, trying vainly
to soothe their unhappy
mites. Cacophony
and pandemonium reign
as my name is flashed
across the board
to call me to the surgery
I escaped first
then my bated breath
in a sigh of relief…

Love this;
Cacophony
and pandemonium reign
as my name flashes
across the board
to call me to the surgery.
But...
check your puncatuation and tenses to imrpove the meaning!
