Slowly the day unfolds
in the same way as yesterday
and the day before
Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera…
Life drains slowly
wasted, like water
from a broken tap
drip, drip, drip…
Try to stay sane
or be driven mad,
inspiration disappears like life
all in vain
drip, drip, drip…
The highlights of the day,
Breakfast: the shops:
Lunch: a telephone call: dinner
etcetera, etcetera, etcetera…
Watch television’s
Lifestyle shows,
yet life has no style
drip, drip, drip.
Watch the screen
be hypnotised as
pictures flash past
zombied eyes veined red
until it’s time to go to bed
Drip, drip, drip.
Seconds drip by,
minutes drip by,
hours drip by,
etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Love the rhythm in this poem and the tranquil feeling that sweeps over me when I read it. I do find that acting insane helps one stay sane; I got through my GCSEs by complaining to my Orlando Bloom calendar about how much I hated chemistry!

I hope you got a good grade for your chemistry! :) I'm sure you will have done. Thanks Magic for reading and commenting Love Val x

I got an A* actually - the shock almost killed me on results day :) Science never has been my thing, I'm an English geek through and through!
