Funny,
this morning you stopped by
so unexpectedly appearing
on my mind’s eye
“just a casual call” you said.
Dark brown voice,
resounding inside my head
shoulder leaning on the wall,
head cocked to one side.
A crooked smile that tried
so unsuccessfully to hide
the bitter regret,
and yet-
inside I felt
somewhere around my heart
the ice melt.
The thaw of forgiveness start,
and dare I hope
all the myths are true
and my eternity could be spent with you?

Quite a question you ask at the end of this poem, Val. I guess only time itself can answer it.
Much enjoyed:-)
