Misty dawn in innocence
how soft you rise;
to greet the infant morn
in cruel disguise.
Who can tell what treachery
this day will bring
to blight some poor life
with loss or wicked sin.
Come misty dawn
in damp dewiness dressed;
wake this sleeping world
from her uneasy rest.
Come now in kindness
for us all I pray,
like an angel heralding
a gentler way.
Come with a sighing breeze
and warming sun
to recharge this weary planet of ours.
Come,
reassure us that this earth
will be at ease,
and for the future of all
its creatures,
PEACE

This stanza is like a spell. What a wonderful poem Val. It works so well. I'm pretty sure that this poem is layered with many hidden messages, but even if it's meant to be what it says then the poem is just beautiful. Great work, well done.
Nathan.

The rhyming itself brings peace.
The flow is so attuned with the message of the poem.
It's like a canvas filled with words falling into their right places.
What a creative masterpiece!
If you don't mind me saying,
I think writing is your true calling Val.
(^_^)

This is an old one, I wrote it years ago and was originally a sonnet, but after a while I realised it would be better in this format. Val x

Thanks Yrene you say the nicest things. I wish I could write like JK Rowling, then I wouldn't have to worry about my pension being whittled away by the lowering bank rate!! (-; Love Val x
