She lies alone
on sweat stained sheets,
stares at the moon and remembers.
Sometimes she fancies
she hears his sighs,
smiling
she turns with loving eyes,
but sees only moon shadows
flicker like dying embers.
Yet love lingers in this room,
she feels it caress her skin
or is it the soft night air
through an open window,
a playful breeze visiting?
She lies alone
On sweat stained sheets,
and hopes to dream as she sleeps,
because she knows,
it is only then,
he may see the moon and remember…
