when the clouds become a storm

Once upon a time there may of been happy days,
of first love or true love or maybe a drunken haze,
but two people come together and forget to rubber up,
and before they knew it, just for that moment,
they have changed their destiny.
A selfish act of pulling out was a mistake,
so a new life is conceived without a doubt,
the thrill of three minutes turns into a nine month war,
of thinking how stupid of me, and whatever for,
is it worth it just for a thrill,
to forget the condom or take a pill,
because the baby grows and needs feeding too,
a dirty, screaming child what do you do?
So you stay together for the love of god,
but you find out living together is just too odd,
but you married the person to do the Christian thing,
but love turned to sorrow, and abuse from drinking.
The baby is in your nest for at least sixteen years,
the person you married clings onto you with despair.
So from the bed sheets of love and sex,
to a thirty-year nightmare,
from the crisp warm summer day when I was born,
the skies darkened when the clouds became a storm.
