THE CITY CALLS

THE CITY CALLS

If I had wings, I would fly away,
Land in a city on a great highway,
Look at the life all around me and say,
Oh boy! Am I glad to be here!

If I had wheels, I would drive so fast,
Until I came to a city at last,
I'd leave the country right there in the past,
And boy! Would I be glad to be there.

The loneliness, the lack of friends,
The Groundhog Day that never ends,
The alienation and lack of hope tends
To make me strive for the day I get there.
