A few months down the line
when you were
hanging out with
Lotus eaters
and
the Lady of the pigs
I was at it with gusto
with visiting princes
ambassadors
and half the palace guard
while pretending to all sorts
of thin domestic virtue
and cold cold
chastity
the archery contest
when you returned
was a stroke of genius
Even Homer has a price
as you well know

I like this Camilla, same theme as carol ann duffy's world's wife, writing from the perspective of the other voice in famous tales. Simon Armitage did a good BBC4 prog on Odysseus recently. Thanks for the read. :-)
