Kinetic (Poetry Monthly)

What if the pane of glass was not a solid, but a slow moving liquid?
Would it have stirred, with the thrust of my outstretched hand;
streaming downwards through my fingers in an act of fluid friction?
Would my grasp have met yours through the flow of supercooled substance?
Would you have let me lead you out of there, caught up in my trajectory -
splashed towards me, through an unvitrified pool of uncertain matter?
What if kinetic particle theory had yielded; succumbed to the heat?
Would the laws of physics have been proved wrong, destroyed
in a flash of liquefying joy, at a glimpse of you through a window?

Lovely and tactile, this is a day dream I have too. 'Liquefying joy', feelings into transforming substance, love that quick silver idea. Like the one word chemical lines too.

Poetry in motion, Canonette,
Poetry in motion, Canonette, in the true sense of the word. Intelligent, erudite verses and pure joy to read. My admiration.

Joyful to read. Old window glass does move downwards and get thicker at the bottom of the pane but it takes about a hundred years!

No myth, Ru. The sun does
No myth, Ru. The sun does most the damage. Did you know the Romans lost the formula for cement for about a century too? Maybe they were brewing a war or something.
To check pane width from top and bot, just take the leather jacketed genius girl to a National Trust gaff, get up into the turret and you'll see for yourself. You can tell by tapping the glass and hearing the difference in resonance. This poem has a resonance of deep spiritual rejuvenation. You're a true diamond.

Oh, this is gorgeous. You're on fire with poetry again. What an interesting perspective and you've put your research skills to good use and made it an absorbing chemical love.
