The day I wore those brand new shoes,
The ladies
Would stop and stare
At the shine
The gleam
The tranquillity
Of those new shoes.
The sun shone bright
As the day
Broke away
Wow what a sight
They’d say
The children screamed at my
Brand new shoes.
My Lord
The Priest yelled
Running from his door
Those shoes are a plight
Not made by God!
But we all knew
That the reason why
He cried
Was true to his shoes
That shone bright as
Morning dew.
Now the days grow old,
The shoes no longer shine
The ladies no longer care
The days continued to rain
A pity,
I’d say
My size 10 shoes
No longer have that certain
Wow factor to them
What a shame
Today.
Screw it I’ll get some more in the morning.

Like this, Caolan:-)
Just a minor typo in the first line of the second stanza. Think it should be, "The sun 'shone' bright".
Adored the ending. Great line:-)

I liked this.
So interesting yet simple,
it makes me want to see your shoes!
