Little Flame

I dance

Flicker,
Falter,

Rise and fall

Little flame of amber whispers
All too soon a deafening call

Like a raindrop turns to flooding
Little flame a fire grooms

Waiting, like a flower budding
For its chance to grow and bloom

Kissing all it comes too near to
Leaving all it touches raw

Little flame so fast accrues
Now a little flame no more

Careful with the little flamelings
Matchstick strong and candle bright

Little Flame, a sneaky changeling
Small but filled with deadly might.
