Buffalo Cloud

from the ABC set Inside Elephant

Buffalo saw the Indian ride.
A Bigfoot,
Cheyenne,
Arapaho
Tide.
Indian rode the buffalo plain
before it was lost to a
sea of grain.
Chasing the great, black, buffalo cloud,
a dust-storm rising,
thundering shroud, till
Buffalo fled the white man’s road,
slicing the prairie
to carry its load. And
Indian heard the white man’s guns
slaughtering herds for
hide and tongues,
riding over the land of the free
at Big Horn,
Sandcreek and
Wounded Knee.
Buffalo saw the Indian stand, till
Indian lost the Buffalo land.

Oh Wow, What an amazing poem, here am I sat
surrounded by dream catchers and my paintings of the
American Indians. Its one of my hobbies. Wish I had
thought of this poem. I have the book about
Wounded knee, very sad. I brought it at the American
Museum outside of Bath.
Thanks I will write this one in my Indian journal,
don't worry I will say its your work.

Thanks ever so much! You sound more of an expert than I am but it's a history that fascinates me, not to mention their music.
Glad you enjoyed it. All the best.
Catherine.
