THE BEAUTIFUL HANDS OF A PRIEST

We need them in life's early morning
we need them again at it's close;
we feel their warm clasp of true friendship,
we seek it while tasting life's woes.

Whe we come to this world we are sinful,
the greatest as well as the least.
and the hand's that make us pure as angels
are the beautiful hands of a priest

At the altar each day we behold them,
and the hands of a king on his throne
are not equal to them in greatness
their dignity stands all alone.

For there in the stillness of morning
e're the sun has emerged from the east,
there God rests between the pure fingers
of the the beautiful hands of a priest.

When we are tempted and wander
to pathways of shame and sin
'tis the hand of a priest that absolve us
not once but again and again.

And when we are taking life's partner
other hands may prepare us a feast
but the hands that will bless us and unite us,
are the beautiful hands of a priest.

God bless them and keep them all holy,
for the host which their fingers caress,
what can a poor sinner do better
than to ask Him who chose them to bless

When the death dews on our eye lids are falling,
may our courage and strenth be increased
by seeing raised o'er is in blessing
the beautiful hands of a priest.

Umm! thinking how to answer...
It is an unkown author, so ok. put
on here, unless, any objections.
I'll brief you, when any and priest's movs
on, we go to celebrations, right and days
years couldn't go to far, coaches laid on
may be cars, mine not religious take me by
train maybe, free, and this was in church mag; or
service book, have B&B come home nice.
I got a lump in my throat to read.
so beautiful. Had little copy years ago, but mine
hubby put on my pictures, so now it's on here!
If you type in research button, we have found it,
says un known Author. etc;
But done all this as poem says bit
In many different ways..
This I kept from late 1900.
Before I even went to church
then.

After many years? Went local 4
Stronger onto healing one 12.
Only one any help, was my last one?
Involved looked after, read the bible
I was so excited. To talk, sleep, help
and do. If you time, read "The Brush Off"
Now I realise most was me.
Kheldar David started it, his.
Well I tried, correction,
started church late 1990's.
Then my hubby too me up by train?
Free met them all, And booklet or
service sheet this was there.
Not a song, just someone done,
I took it. Now typed in research
found, strange. But I had a priest
changing over, did everything for me?
Possibly could in all.ok. moved shame.
7 years there. ~We all met last year
wedding, raed out some one did "Song Of Songs"
if you ime to read, now 1,301 times, gobsmacked.
Not mine! but all seemed to like. I am truly, amazed
what Iv'e done, only been a year on here? So many helped. Can't do punctuation. and sometimes author's
so damn good, I think it's true, now then not. I enjoy, my mind is so clear I think now.
reading your's and all, but I am more an agony aunt.

What can I say? I am glad that you got relief in the church and the poem certainly tells a tale. Good on you ;)

Cavalcaderl | August 19, 2010 - 19:20

new Highat, thankyou comment.
Excuse mistakes, can't say much
many many years, 16 years nothing,
before church?
So tears in my eyes effects, putting
to much on, the lovely compliments coming
in making me well up. Day off to-day from visiting
friend. I might have you all in tears, so I try all
happy things, and all I have achieved everywhere,
especially Editor AbcTales tcook tony.
and all AbcTaler's on here!
But strange and amazing things happen, the paper print some poems not really, poet "The Big Issue"
headed on there page headed top AbcTales and all homeless get paid too, closed. And sometimes I might read one, out or ask if can do one of there's on here. Silver-Spun-Sand let me, in library
held poetry, couple towns away. My hubby took me.
And do let me put in paper of poet's corner page part
somtimes. Looks ok, punctuation don't see.
Thankyou

How very funny. Actually I took the pseudonym because it is the symbal you hit along with the drums. I think that is what is called in english? It is a highhat in danish with the same spelling. Jazz musicians use them a lot. ;D

Hi! sorry, they were all made of icing
these top hats. Size about 2 inches tall.
Oh! I didn't know that. I knew someone once
drummer used drum sticks is it, that's different.
Done a little bit of singing in groups, day centres
all, and the over 50' plus again just made me say.
So know a lot songs, Jazx you mention great. Are you
a musician.
