With his fretsaw
could make all kind of things
Two Aircraft carriers
and monkey on a stick
One was a small plywood model
shaped like a house
the man on the left
woman on the right
When it was rain and showers
he would go back indoors
The woman when the sunshone
would come out
as she cleverly pivoted around
the works of the atmospheric pressure
the Weather House
could it be right
yes? it always was
So fascinating to watch
when children we'd sit
and laugh our socks of
If you were hear now
I remember how
you used to in the dark
pick the bunch of flowers
in the showers
from somone elses garden
even if a little bit drunk
My eyes would light up
with your love
R.I.P.

Julie, I think you have found the right formula with this poem and hit the mark with the weather house.
It is well expressed and one of your best, I believe.

I know the story yes Julie! My dad had much more fun playing with our toys than we did. Do you read poetry? I mean other than Abc? Do you know "A Poison Tree"? Your last stanza made me think of it. Never sleep angry on your brother!
Keep well! &&

Yes,you are right,most dad's love
to play with the toy train or whatever
or grandads like to. But not so much then.Like parents
even now buy children icecream, bite some off,
eat most themselves, before handing it back to
the poor kids.Answer= No I don't read poetry,but
mine will go and buy books from market cheap, just
got me bigger one on "The Diary Of an Edwardian Lady"
pictures and poems of bird's flowers berries plants
and script. Daughter popped over, happened to mention read Mc.Cavity=cat poem go on search type in by Walter De la Mare may spelt wrong, sorry.Story like very old but flowed well, plus spelling mistake.Well I don't know about poison tree, but did have a kind of poison ring, handed from my dad, saved for me 2nd hand.Had to get rid of,advised to top shone like a little crystal ball. That's another story. And a video passed as present to me,seeing him taking my sister to her church her wedding, shock effected me awful, played as pop went bed ridden big C in the end. That's another story? Yes,God said I have forgiven you, so you must forgive others. But I was last he spoke to in morning and had him in my arms,by 6pm rest family came he d. Mum wasn't there. But love I showed looking after him most 6 months as all were working, to year, but may not done so much in life, who knows? Oh! bits poems school,"The Owl and the Pussy Cat". "Wind on the hill." By A.A. Mills. " Two little kittens" .etc;I am tired winds got through me a bit, cough sweets dosing it up.The phone lost cover so nylon black one over it,so bright last night, had to have a much thicker cover, lit up half room.
keep writing yours like read romance ones.Re-done a bit poem words reads better, put in line from someone elses garden, then even if a little bit drunk, reads better.
hope your well.No Cuckoos this year.I haven't heard.

Those were the days!
Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry;
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.
Jack and the beanstalk etc ..

I smell blood, it is a Dutchman
Be he alive or be he dead
