OH! WHEELIE BIN True

Oh! Wheelie bin
tall and green
where!
have you gone

From the pavement outside
a few days ago you were
standing there
beside the other one

I thought you
were tall and strong
even though now
He has painted
a number on!

The daffodils are out now
a massive glow of yellow
bowing their heads
looking for you

Maybe someone
thought!
you were a pram
and pushed it a long

Or you just took
off like roller skates on
the other wheelie bin
is missing you

Maybe we will have to paint
eyes on you!
What! is the world coming too
or get a c.c.tv camera keep it's eyes on you.
comments please has it happened to anyone.

I love the idea that wheelie bins have a secret life, and sometimes roller skate off on their own.

I'm sorry yours was nicked though Julie - I hope you get a new one soon xx

I too have had my wheelie bin pinched in the night by a neighbour, they put their number on it and passed it off as their own - how rude!

Lovely, truthful and funny poem and has cheered me up no end, as I go to do the school run I'll be looking at all the bins along the way and wondering what they'll be getting up to tonight :)

Julie I don't think you need to try at humour, I think you're hilarious :)
Well, I did spot a few dodgy looking bins on the school run, huddlied in corners I could almost hear them whispering but if you ask me, it's the recycling boxes that you've gotta keep your eye on! I've had them go missing in the night too, and painting numbers makes no difference I think they think they're in a race!
In a world gone mad your poem and your humour has turned today into a pleasure, I must say. My children loved this piece also,
