When faith is gone (part 2)

Six months had passed and my dad
was without a job and became an alcoholic, my
older brother became a drug addict and sister
was now used by her boyfriend as a prostitute.
It was hard without a mother.
It was a new year and it would be time I receive my results, and when I got the newsletter, we all found our names.
Even with all these trials and
tribulations, I never gave up hope.
I always looked at my mother's photo for strength.
There came a knock on the door and I went to
open it and the last thing I saw was a man, a
mysterious man with a ski mask over his head,
holding a gun to my forehead, demanding me
to allow him inside and call Jason.
I called Jason and when he came from the stairs the
man started shooting at him. I was afraid and I
pushed the man's arm to his left and by
surprise and shock, I saw him pull the trigger,
shooting Natasha's boyfriend Blade, straight to
the heart.
I pulled off his ski mask and I saw it
to be the loan shark they called Kundo, he was
also part of a gang, but I can't mention it, I'm
afraid it would start an outrage.
Blade saw Kundo's face and he yelled at Natasha to call
one of the Americans, Tommy, to inform him
that he was shot by Kundo. Jason got hold of
Kundo's gun and shot him straight to the head.
Then the police came and took us in for
questioning. Nobody got arrested but the case
was still on for investigation. We all knew that
Jason wasn't safe now, he had to flee and went
back to his fiancée who he left and when Blade
died, Natasha went to rehab, so did Jason and
our father.
It took a few months for them to rehabilitate but they recovered quickly.
Three years had passed and Jason was married,
Lucinda was pregnant with their first child.
Natasha had a child and was married to Lionel.
My father used the money of my mother and
started his own trucking company along with his
partner being my brother of course. I went to
study as a chef, Justin as a novelist, Adrian as a
carpenter, Ashley as a lawyer, Enrico as a tour
guide and Henrico as a photographer. All went
well for everyone. I finally made it to Italy
where I hoped to become the world's greatest
chef coming from South Africa. We sat in
church, me and my new Italian girlfriend; also a
chef.
We arrived back in South Africa, Cape
Town.
We went to church and whilst listening to
the word, Lionel, now a priest, brought up a
very interesting topic, asking us in the words,
"What do we do, when faith is gone?" I thought
to myself, what do you do when faith is gone?
my answer would be……… to pray.
