You Opened a Window

Like the first spring moment following an endless winter. The window is grudgingly coaxed from the pane; senses enkindled with the songs of birds and insect wings. The gentle breeze bringing with it that youthful sense of endless life.
You opened a window and I feel gratitude for our talks and for healing a part of me I didn't know could be healed.
The blissful sense of being swept up in currents, each our own, that have brought us swirling together in an eddy that we share.
Excitement - because I don't know what will happen next.
A boy's eagerness to be valiant and bold and win your heart. I would slay a dragon for you.
A tenderness that leads to daydreams. Lazy days that have no end, spent with you in the grass and the sun.
But then, when you are very close, the predator's frenzied urge. The urge to devour you. To take everything of you and make it a part of me.

A poem that started off so
A poem that started off so serene, but then had a surprise ending.
I liked this.
Jenny.
