Seasons

from the ABC set Poetry

Summer is a drunk musician
Playing our favourite song.
Winter is a wizened man
Trying to sing along.
Autumn is a widowed matron
Sitting off to one side.
Spring is a hot-headed teen
Who wants to come inside.

Summer is a faded towel
Flapping in a sea breeze.
Winter is a knitted jumper
Stretched over cold knees.
Autumn is a favourite cap
That’s cool enough to wear.
Spring is the light boots
Put on the steps to air.

Almost nursery-rhyme like, I love it! Very singsong quality!

Thanks Jen. I'm still practicing my lyric-writing, it seems.
