Salvation

I am a biting snowflake on a bitter winter’s eve
I am the wild rain pounding the fallen leaves.
You are a rainbow with pots of shimmering gold
You are the angel whose wings my spirit enfolds.
I am the vitriolic sea where you drown in your sleep
You are a morning dew drop sparkling on my cheek.
I am a blood stained thorn made of rusty metal
You are the perfumed rose with sun kissed petals.
I am a thunder bolt that pummels your milky flesh
You are the sun that melts me with your sweet caress.
I am the serpent coiled round the apple tree
You are the butterfly that flutters straight past me.
If I’m the devil’s advocate, leading you to temptation
You are the heavenly messenger, guiding me to salvation.
