200

from the ABC set

Two hundred, so many!
Ten score of stories,
five times forty fragments,
souped-down sonnets,
hacked-up haiku,
chaucerian hubris;
a novel -well novella -
verse averse to scansion
or even meaning
from time to time.
Two hundred; not counting
the virtual paper
scraps hiding in
the recycle bin.

This is a great 'celebratory' poem to mark a numerical landmark in your ABC collection, though having read through some of your pieces you are being very hard on yourself! I love the reference to the virtual scraps in the recycle bin - surely something every writer can relate to. Delightful.

It really is a great body of work. I return to a number of my favorites often, when there is a lull in the action. Often guaranteed hilarity that says more behind the scenes, i.e. souped-down sonnets, verse averse to scansion.

And a cherry to mark the occasion!
