Autumn comes in fiery colours,
the leaves turn auburn, ochre and saffron:
the sun sets low and dyes the sky vermillion.
Autumn comes; in fiery colours
the heat is dulling, cooling and fading:
the goats shiver and bleat on the hillsides
Autumn comes. In fiery colours,
the leaves are drying, crackling and falling:
we harvest the corn, 'til winter begins the dying.
