Bahrain Bhoys (Black Gold)

from the ABC set

you meet them in their
adopted habitat where they cluster
for the sound of their own vowels
or consonants that do not hurt the throat
and to soothe this they head for
some dark wood and darker lighting
except for the garish green
neon shamrock glowing outside
even in a desert country
the other black gold is guzzled by the gallon
by expat oil workers visiting military men
or to local disgust even women
and the white collared black magic
sold by filipinos thais and
other desperate wage-slaves
costs a damned sight more
than 100 dollars a barrel
as it puts a drunken spell
on displaced white skins
who never meet a semite
outside of the workplace
