The nib scoring CAPITALS in
thick - and sickly perfumed - paper?
Just once, you might walk
in another's shoes;
but no, they are too small
for such a titan as you.
Don't you feel a certain vertigo,
as you look down at we
tiny ants below your mighty self?
How apt to name your own
work a masterpiece,
since your opinion
is no more - or less - than truth.
It is in no way ironic
that you do not know
the word eirenic.

Interesting; I didn't know the word either, which was a bit disconcerting for me; as it is for all us genius' ;)

It's a favourite of crossword compilers, that's the only reason I know the word, myself. I've been waiting 25 years to use it. :-D So perhaps it's a little unfair to use it as I have here.

I don't use the on-line dictionaries much as I prefer the dead weight of the Concise Oxford in my hands. In fact, I'll only use an on-line dictionary if I'm expecting an argument from a malapropista.
