From your best of all possible governments.
We outline our proposals to date;
they'll be constitutional tomorrow
- we haven't got time for debate.
For the best of all possible solutions,
we'll create Motivational Tsars
to enforce an optimistic outlook
no matter how dreadful things are.
With the best of all possible intentions,
you'll surrender your freedom to us.
We'll accept it with glad-handing sadness
and a minimum of plebiscite fuss.
When the best of all possible restrictions
are enforced by closed-circuit TV,
the intellectual rights to your image
will revert to the government, you see.
For the best of all possible elections
are postponed to an undefined day:
your right to silence is defended,
whatever you wanted to say.

Brilliant! Now, which government/dictatorship could you be referring too? Take your pick, I suppose.

Very good...especially the last verse. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to exercise my right to comment.

Didn't Voltaire say something about it being dangerous to be right when the government is wrong? If so, then you better be looking over your shoulder because the sentiment in this is spot on.
